Caddo Lake State Park

Vanlife: Caddo Lake State Park

Welcome to our Caddo Lake State Park blog! We didn’t pick this place, but boy was it a great state park. 10/10 highly recommend. For a brief run down, the park was easy to get to and close to town if we needed anything. It was very clean and well maintained and a really great bathroom (that was heated!!). Read more on the specifics below about Caddo Lake State Park and what we did when we were there! Let’s start it off preparing to get on the road. Usually I’m (Danielle) very much on top of planning way in advance. I have the van ready, groceries packed, everything done in advance, except for this time. Vanlife: Eisenhower State Park Blog

Our first night in the van at Eisenhower State Park Located right on the border of Texas and Oklahoma, right off Lake Texoma. What was suppose to be a quick day trip to hang out with my mom turned into our first night in the van! With nothing in it but an air mattress, we survived our first night. But not really that comfortably, our air mattress had a hole. LOL. About an hour and a half north of DFW, this is a pretty nice state park to visit. The park is filled with hiking trails and really nice campsites with clean bathrooms. We ended up doing a 3 mile hike that lead to a beautiful overlook. I would recommend everyone to check out this

Eagle Mountain Feature

Eagle Mountain Park Blog

Why We Love Eagle Mountain Park! This is our favorite local hiking trail in the DFW area. If we want to do something that is familiar and comfortable, we will always go to Eagle Mountain Park! If you’re looking for a fun hike in the Fort Worth area, look no further than Eagle Mountain Park. One thing we love about this place is that there are 3 options for hiking, depending on what you are feeling. First, there is an easy almost 2 mile hike towards the right side of the entrance, perfect for smaller kids. Second, is a 5 mile trail that heads to the left, a little more challenge but still a great hike. If you want to combine the whole park, you

No Trace Left Behind

No Trace Left Behind

Have you ever ventured into the wilderness, only to stumble trash, empty bottles, or sometimes grosser things? This is why we follow the “No Trace Left Behind” philosophy. This unspoken pact among nature lovers highlights the importance of leaving our outdoor playgrounds better than we found them. In a world where ecological consciousness is front and center, following this unwritten rule isn’t just admirable – it’s important.  “No Trace Left Behind” is an unwritten code of conduct that serves as a guiding principle for responsible outdoor activities. At its core, this concept embraces the idea that when we venture into natural environments, we should aim to leave absolutely no evidence of our presence. This means taking deliberate steps to minimize our impact on the environment.

About Us
HI!! We're Danielle and Malcolm

We're a couple of full time remote workers looking to explore the United States in our van and the world by air. In 2024, we purchased a Ford Transit and started building out our DIY van, that will be our permanent home when completed. Between the build and our jobs, we also love to travel to new places and visit our family and friends that live all across the USA.
