We felt a rush of excitement and just a hint of nerves as we left familiar roads behind, ready to experience life on the highway. Why are we heading to Oregon, you ask? Well, it’s all for some van flooring. We found a USA Company named DIY Van who installs composite insulated flooring — all in one piece. So that meant driving over 2,000 miles in our van, which made it our longest road trip

Vanlife: Caddo Lake State Park

Welcome to our Caddo Lake State Park blog! We didn’t pick this place, but boy was it a great state park. 10/10 highly recommend. Read more on the specifics below about Caddo Lake State Park and what we did when we were there! Let’s start it off preparing to get on the road. Usually I’m (Danielle) very much on top of planning way in advance. I have the van ready, groceries packed, everything done in advance, except for this time. Forks, WA: More Than Twilight

Why Forks, Washington? In our opinion, there are a million reasons on why Forks should be on your bucket list, but our favorite reason is the scenery! Scroll down to see some of our favorite pictures from Forks. We can’t get over the hiking trails, rivers and waterfalls and mountain backdrops. It’s also a short drive to the Pacific Coast. Twilight Forks, Washington is home of the infamous book/movie series “Twilight”. When you explore the area, it’s easy to see why a moody vampire series would be located in the PNW. Not only did the movies pick the best small town to place the story in – but it also helped the town’s economy. Even though the books came out in the early mid 2000’s

Exploring Fort Worth Texas

Exploring Fort Worth, Texas

What’s So Awesome About Fort Worth? Not only is it our current hometown, but it has a rich history. One thing I love about Fort Worth is keeping it’s western Cowboy culture so prevalent in everything.  The Stockyards where they still herd the cattle through the streets of Fort Worth twice a day! There is also a more modern part of Fort Worth that has a really cool rooftop restaurant right next to Sundance Square. There is so much more to do in Fort Worth than these few things, but these are just some of our favorites. The Stockyards Unique Accommodation Experience a one-of-a-kind stay where old charm meets modern comfort. Right in the bustling heart of Fort Worth’s historic Stockyards. Heart of the Herd

Vanlife: Eisenhower State Park Blog

Our first night in the van at Eisenhower State Park Located right on the border of Texas and Oklahoma, right off Lake Texoma. What was suppose to be a quick day trip to hang out with my mom turned into our first night in the van! With nothing in it but an air mattress, we survived our first night. But not really that comfortably, our air mattress had a hole. LOL. About an hour and a half north of DFW, this is a pretty nice state park to visit. The park is filled with hiking trails and really nice campsites with clean bathrooms. We ended up doing a 3 mile hike that lead to a beautiful overlook. I would recommend everyone to check out this

HI!! We're Danielle and Malcolm

We're a couple of full time remote workers looking to explore the United States in our van and the world by air. In 2024, we purchased a Ford Transit and started building out our DIY van, that will be our permanent home when completed. Between the build and our jobs, we also love to travel to new places and visit our family and friends that live all across the USA.
