What's In the Blog

What's Been Happening?

It’s about time to give you a  van build update was needed as we are seeing the light at the of the tunnel. And boy is that light getting bigger and brighter! This is actually the first big update, blog style since this everything has been happening so fast. So let’s get caught up!

Shower Pan

Now that the shower pan is sealed in, that means it isn’t going anywhere, anytime soon. The shower pan was bought from Edden & Nicole via Sandy Vans. We ended up cutting into the composite flooring so we could keep as much height as possible. Malcolm is 6 foot 1 inches, after all.

Painting Update

We went back and forth on how we were going to paint the interior of our home. The options were, do it piece by piece or all at once at the end. At the end, we decided on piece by piece, with multiple reasons why. Doing it all at once would be a nice closer to our project but with a small space means there are small places that might be hard to get to. If we do it piece by piece – or section by section – we can get into smaller spaces a little easier.

Painting Colors

For our paint colors, we wanted something simple and minimal. Something that would be the perfect canvas to expand on through out our travels.

Wall Color | Taupe Tease
#E0D9CF

Upper Cabinets | Creamy Mushroom
#CABDAE

Base Cabinets | Charcoal Blue
#6F7B84

Cab/Garage | Black Forest

Custom Cushions

As you would have guessed it, we needed custom cushions for our living room area. Honestly, they weren’t hard to find. Plenty of websites offer custom cushion sizes and as long as you have your measurements, you’re good to go!

We went to customcushions.com for our cushions and had a great experience with them. Initially picked out the waterfall style of cushions, but customer service reached out to us and said that the boxed style would fit our needs way better. So, at no extra cost to us, we changed up our style last minute and it worked out great. I’m very happy that we went with boxed, gives us a fully look.

For the back cushions, we aren’t going to do custom cushions but throw pillows. The idea is to make it super comfortable and cozy. But, if we end up not liking it – we will order backing!
